Indoor plants on radiator?

I just pruned some trees so I will actually get light in some of my windows, however the only good spot(southern exposure) to put them would be on a wooden radiator cover. Any problems with that? I assume the plants would dry out faster and need more water. I live in Minnesota so the windows would be pretty chilly and the radiator on for long periods.
